Cold, the autumnal air was heavy with cold, as I wondered what it was like back then, minds working feverishly in cold huts to crack the code, disbelief at first, messages being hurried from room to room, hand to hand, as machines turned and electrical connections were made, the wheels rotated, then stopped, the start of a code being broken as radio sounds became letters.
